This is a song of Leigh's that he used to get many requests for even in the middle of summer. It's a pity I don't have a video of him singing this (hilarious) the sound track is from possibly thirty years ago. I will pass on any messages left for Leigh. I know from other sites that many people have lost touch with him as I myself did for many years.

This was recorded in 1980 by an old friend who I lost touch with for over twenty years. I know from things read on the web that others have lost touch with Leigh too. As his old friends and fans will know Leigh is blind but some might not know he is also recovering from a stroke (in late 2015) so might not be able to respond personally to any comments or queries, but I will pass on any comments...

Karl singing at Steptoe's Benidorm in 1995 and showing, how even in his later years, his voice still had that unique quality that had gained him many fans in the early 1960's. This song, Marcheta, was his first big hit in the UK - There are a few more versions of this song on UA-cam but this video gives us the chance to see him in action.

Karl Denver was one of my dear old mums favourites. I still have all of his LPs that belonged to her. He was a very good singer from an era when you had to have talent and charisma to make it in show business. Not like these days when someone in the family manages to get on telly then the next thing is the whole bloody family are on telly with not an iota of talent amongst them all. Back in the 60s my Dad had Hank Snow records he used to play. My sister and I were listening to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, but somehow some of these Hank Snow records snuck in. I loved this song then, love it now. Great voice.

That's the wroñg way round. It was Willie Nelson who was influenced by Hank Snow. Willie learned a lot from Hank.
@@DelTangBrav Because I know nothing and you know everything, let me clarify: I hear some Nelson in the solo inasmuch as Willie didn’t have a time machine and didn’t travel back in time to 1953 and influence Snow’s style 3 years before he (Nelson) even recorded a song. What is more, Elvis Presley didn’t have much of an influence on Snow, either, despite also releasing the same song later.

@@adamtzsch Have you any idea what you're talking about it: It would be OK to say "Some Snow in" a Willie Nelson solo. But to say "Some Nelson in" a Snow solo. Infers Hank's style was influenced by Nelson's. As said part of Willie Nelson's style was attained when they recorded many duets together.

You have that the wrong way round it was Elvis who had Parker and Snow as joint managers. Parker didn't manage Hank but formed a management team with him after Hank had discovered Elvis and introduced him to Parker.
I don't think so parker managed Hank long before Elvis

Rodney Crowell (born 1950) would have been under 14 years of age when this clip from the film "Country Music on Broadway" was filmed. He does perform this song now though.😀😀
